He has over fifteen years experience riding and training Hunters and Jumpers.
He has ridden hunters to numerous championships all over the country and
ridden many different horses to Horse of the Year awards in Zone Five.
Greg also does a wonderful
job in the Equitation ring, having trained the Reserve Champion in the
Midwest Region of the ASPCA Maclay championships in 1997. He has also
qualified horses and riders for the Pennsylvania National, Washington
International and the National Horse Show when it was held at Madison
Square Garden in both the Junior Hunter Division and Regular Working Hunter
Division. While showing at the National Horse Show, Greg received ribbons
in every class. Greg has also shown successfully in the jumper ring. While
at HITS in Ocala in 2002, he was Circuit Champion. He has also shown internationally
at Spruce Meadows.
Greg now has is 'r'
in the Hunters, Hunter Seat Equitation, and Jumpers and judges many shows
throughout the country.
MARCIA
FRANKLIN is one of the owners of Canterbury Farm. She has been
in the horse business for more then 20 years on a variety of levels: from
barn owner to horse owner to rider and most recently has gotten involved
with driving. She owns her own driving pony and carriage that she loves
to drive around the farm and up and down Thurnau road. Marcia is a very
hands on owner and is great with kids. Before becoming the owner of Canterbury
Farm, Marcia was a schoolteacher for 20 years in the Northbrook School
District.
We also have a very
qualified staff of employees at the farm who are there to help you with
all of your needs. They travel with us to horse shows so your horse gets
the same quality care on the road as it does at home. We at Canterbury
Farm are here to accommodate you any way we can.
ALLIE
QUTUB is the assistant trainer at Canterbury Farm. She has ridden
horses and worked with them for most of her life. For the past ten years
she has trained with Greg, which makes Allie familiar with all of the
services offered by the barn.
Although she favors jumpers, Allie is adept at training young horses no
matter what their future discipline is. She enjoys giving green horses
a good start and being a part of the progress they make. Her patience
and encouragement are evident while working with other riders.
Allie counts showing at Spruce Meadows and riding in George Morris's clinics
as top accomplishments. She would like to enrich her riding experience
by competing in the Grand Prixes some day.
